This course is designed to give students an introduction to basic digital and 35mm film camera operation. Black and white film is used and developed in-house in the working darkroom. Emphasis is placed on composition techniues (what makes a picture look good), how to use a camera, how to develop negatives, and how to make printed photographs. Projects also involve using a digital camera, learning basic features and photo editing software. The majority of photograhs will be taken outside of class time. We have a limited supply of cameras that students may share. | Types of Projects may include: Photograms (prints made without a camera) Lighting (front, side, back) Sports action Landscape, Waterscape, Architecture Composition Photo hunt Photographer research Digital storage and enhancement
